How to ensure your New Foreign Domestic worker service you well ?

Allow me to share with you what I think. Please bear with me if you have different opinion, and write to me. Any suggestion will be helpful.
Many Employers said that they could find out worker's ability within the first week. And some of them are too keen to find out. Worker may become too tired
In most cases, when new worker arrived your home. She could have too much worry. For example: being ill treated, employer's family, their job, ... etc. She leave home and work in Singapore. She lose all support from her friends and families. Employer will be her greatest support.
May be employer could start with relationship building. Arrange her sleeping place and where she shall keep her belonging. Talk with her. Let your children play with her and tell your child to respect their care taker. Provide your worker with some stamps to send letter home. Let her settle down and start her job
Culture different. Although your agency shall do this before deploying worker to you, one of our major different is language. Please forgive me to say that our English is mixed with Chinese. In some cases, we can simply replace Chinese words with English. e.g. not this one la, that one, no that one, how many time I have to tell you this etc. It could be really unusual to say "May I have this ?" We may simple say "Give me this". To foreigner, she may feel that we are impolite or sometime insulting her. Explain to her we don't mean that.

Balance her work, leisure and rest time.
Your worker could be very good worker but you could give her enough time to settle down.
When we work for a new company or new position. How long time we need to perform again ? sometime it could take months. And so does your worker. She may not meet your requirement at the begining. But she will definitely improve.
