Who can apply for Foreign Domestic worker (FDW) ?
Almost everyone. Except foreigner on social visit such as on holiday or short term visit to Singapore. And those blacklisted by MOM. i.e. Singaporean, PR, Work permit, Employment pass holder ..... etc
Combined family income shall be $3000 or above

How much is FDW employer's levy ?
Levy adjusted since July 07

$265 per month (normal)
$170 per month  (concessionary) - if your children (Singaporean) is less than 12 years old or you are living with elderly persons 65 years old or above. Subject to MOM approval.
Goverment announce that they may reduce to levy in the near future

How to Check My outstanding levy

if you have Singpass you can use cpf webpages to check
or you can call 1800-2271188 but you need your MOM CPF reference number. Which is different from your NRIC number or your CPF number.
How does Maid benefit to my family ?
Maid can take care of your house work and your children. Training program is available for taking care of new born baby and elderly (as per request). So you can focus on your career or enjoy your life better.
What is employer's responsbility ?
Please refer to MOM's work permit terms and conditions. Employment agreement between maid and yourselves
. And also the Sevice agreement  - Employer are reponsible to maintance, well being, medical expenses, food, accomodation, allow external communication. expatriation maid's to home town after terminated work permit.
Can I instruct my maid to help my relative ?
MOM don't allowed. Under work permit regulation, maid only allow to work at the same address and employer specified on the work permit.
In case employer not satisfy with maid's performance, what is procedure ?
We will counsel they to improve their performance. We will continue to train them and monitoring their progress.  If maid  don't reach acceptable standard, employment can inform us to arrange for replacement.
The most convenience way will be allowed the existing maid to work till she find a new employer. There are several advantage
      1. If remove the existing maid, employer have to support her for 21 days for both levy and cost of living.
      2. Employer can't apply for replacement maid's work permit till her existing maid transferred to a new employer.
Let the existing maid continue to service employer, this will help to minimum cost and inconvenient. For details, pls refer to your agreement
Maid Agencies
Can employer direct repatriate without agree with agency ?
Employer and maid agency shall work closely. In case of dispute, employer or maid shall inform maid agency immediately. Agency will help to resolve dispute. Maid borrowed a lot money to work in Singapore. Agency had to settled all their loan plus many other expense before maid enter Singapore.

In case employer not satisfy with maid. Agency will provide replacement to employer. However, maid need job to support their family too. Agency will try to train them again. If they pass, they shall be re-deployed to other employer. 

Under standard service agreement, employer have to seek agency agreement in writing before employer expat their FDW. In case employer not satisfy with their maid, they shall request for replacement. Employer and agency shall work together to ensure existing FDW working as normal before replacement maid arrival.

How can I know my maid is doing her job ?
We could rent internet camera to employer. Just stick the camera to wall and power it up. You can view it from any computer with internet exploder.  Camera  are password protected.  We provide recording service also. For details pls contact us
If employer return maid to agency does advance salary for maid loan be refund ?
Maid need a lot of money to come to Singapore. This amount is owed by the maid. Employer pay advance salary to agency for their debt. Once the maid return to the agency. The balance amount will be refunded to employer.

e.g. If the amount of advanced salary is 7 months. The maid work for 3 month. And the employer already service  one month advanced written notice. to both maid and agency. The remain 4 months advanced pay will be refund to the employer. For details pls refer to service agreement.
When employers go to work or vacation, can they lock their maids inside their house to prevent maid from running away ?
This is illegal in Singapore. Please don't.
In case my maid is sick, who shall pay for the medical cost ?
MOM require employer to pay for maid's medical cost and all other basic needs e.g. food & accomodiation...etc. We strongly recommend employer to buy additional medical insurance.  Pls ensure the policy is sufficient to cover potential medical expenses. 
Do maid protected by Singapore law ?
Yes they are protected by Singapore law. Abuse will be presecuted. We will assist all our client to resolve dispute and improve our maid's working standard. Pls kindly contact us if you need our service.

Maid's Home sick problem ?

When maid suffer from home sick, her performance will be affected and become emotion. It is difficult to prevent but chance may be reduced if employer take the necessary steps

1. Who will take care of maid's family if she come to Singapore ?
Employer shall question all applicants to find out what will be the arrangement. Some applicant don't have enough backup. Her family is too much rely on the applicant. Applicant may only be attracted by better salary but forget to make neccessary arrangement. Once she leave home and problem start to surface.  Our agency provide necessary advise to employer during phone interview.
2. Salary deduction period ?
All employee work for salary. Maid may have salary deduction period. Duration may be varies between agencies. Employee (not just maid) will depressed if the period is too long.
3. Communication with family
When I go oversea for 2 to 3 days, I will start to miss my family. I will call home to ensure they are well. So does our maid, if they lose contact with family, they may miss them so much. However, they may also affect from trouble in their home. Carefully manage their communication and give advise to them when necessary.


What does Employment agencies' role ?

Employment agencies will take all finance risk. In case maid don't perform, you can request for replacement. It is expensive to bring in a foreigner e.g. air freight charges, test, training ..... etc
1. Providing good applicants for your selection.
2. Proceed all document.
3. Follow up with the maid and employer to maintain a good relationship.

Bring my maid to Australia or other country

Australia require maid to work with present employer for minimum 4 months. Before they will accept their Domestic worker visa application. Working in Australia requirement special permit. Working with tourist visa will not be allowed. Maid shall apply for domestic work visa details refer here .
Maximum stay up to 4 weeks - compelling reasons are needed for longer stays

For other country, they may have different policy. But most of them will NOT allow maid to work in their country with tourist visa. Details pls refer to related countries' embassy.

Filippino Home leave

1. Why shall I hire you to process home leave document ?
It is cheaper - with our agency undertaking. Employer's embassy bond is $2000 instead of $7000.
More convenient - We email everything to you and proceed everything for you. You are only required to bring the original documents to us. And pick up the document afterward

2. Can I get the exit pass directly ?
If your maid's contract is registered from Embassy and she paid for OWWA fee, she can apply exit pass directly.

3. How long the embassy approved contract will valid ?
Contract valid for 2 years. However the exit pass (S$5.50) only good for 1 to 2 months.

4. How long it take to process exit pass ?
Normally around one week. Express service is 3 Embassy working days (extra charge). Embassy working day from Sunday to Thursday. Close on Saturday and Sunday

5. What document I need to bring to you ?
Employer's NRIC copy
Maid's passport (original)
Maid's work permit(original)
Embassy's Maid contract ( from my email) - Which shall be signed by employer / Maid / ourselves
OWWA form (from my email)
Air ticket (electronic ticket is ok)
Current Medical insurance

6. What my maid need to bring to Philippine ?

7. What if my maid go back without exit pass ?
She have to explain why she stayed in Singapore. She will be suspected to commit illegal oversea hiring. She can't return to Singapore until she get all the legal document from Philippine's oversea labour office. It take around 3 weeks. She have to pay for training fee and examination fee S$600 to S$700. Attain OWWA orientation course. Employer have to hire us to obtain embassy contract and pay for the return ticket. ----  very expensive so pls don't try.....


How to employ a good maid ?

1. Setup realistic objective and expectation
          -You have to decide her main task - for example taking care of your kids. And made sure she can fulfill your main
           objective ASAP. Focus on it. Your maid come from a different world. From her eye almost everything is new.
           They have to learn everything. Allow them to focus on your main objective.

          -Try to do her task by yourself. It will help  to find out what she shall pay attention to ? And set bench mark
            for her work. Your maid could be younger than you. But you are more familiar with the job. Therefore if you
            can do it within an hour means the most your maid can do it within an hour. Set up realistic expectation
            will help worker to build up their confident and loyalty to your family. For outstanding performance shall
            be recognized. For under performance, employer shall provide guide line and motivation. Sometime you may
            find gentle word is more convincing than scolding.
         
2. Select the right person
         - Experience is important. But don't just trust the bio data. Ask questions during the interview to find out more
         - Married worker have more finance commitment than Single. And they shall be more committed to their job.
           However, married worker may miss her kid and husband. Single workers may not have home sick. However,
           some of them could be too keen to explode the world. And also too keen to find their another half.
         - Communication - your family shall able to communicate with worker effectively. It could be very different
            instruct your maid over the phone. Besides, kids may only learn English and Chinese nowadays.
         - If your maid will take care baby, her hygiene have to be good. I find workers from better developed countries
           are better in hygiene. In developing countries, they are taking care  baby in different way. But you want your
           baby to be taking care in your way. Poor hygiene and unusual practice may create unexpected problem to your baby.
         - Education affect how we think and how we work. More developed countries their education are better.
           Their worker's behavior are more predictable. Foolish people may believe that they can do silly thing without
           being detect. They may not consider the consequent. They could create a lot trouble to their employer. 
         - Worker shall be mature enough to take care of other people. Last year MOM took action to against
           some Singapore agencies.  These agencies' maids over declare their age in their passport. And their employer
           being cheated. In more developed countries, their passport information are more reliable.

3. Build up relationship between your maid and your family
         -  No one can pay someone to love another person (what I meant is true love not acting). Good relationship
            need time and suitable environment. For example: when you are at home, your kid will
            play with you not your maid. Employer may consider to allow your maid to play with your kid under their supervision.
            Once they build up good relationship. Your kids will feel more safe and comfortable. It may take 1 to 2 month to see
            the effect.

4. Loyalty - Surprisingly salary is not the only key factor for staff stay with their companies.
             Study find friendship between co worker and also their supervisor play very important part.
             Many worker stay because they have many friends in their company. I trust the same principle apply to your
             maid. Retaining good workers is never easy. Increasing salary shall be the last resource. Build up good
             relationship and recognize their contribution shall be your first choice.

Deploy time required ?
Some worker require 2 weeks while other may need 1 more week. Deploy time will depend on training involve, season and training school availability. During holiday season, it is difficult to book air ticket. Training cost are included in our fee.

Fast Deployment       = 7 days on average from the day of deposite payment but seldom more than 14 days

Normal Deployment = 17 days on average from the day of deposite payment but seldom more than 24 days

How accurate is the bio data ?
We will try to ensure it is as accurate as possible. However, applicants working experience are difficult to confirm. In developing countries, their communication networks only cover city area. And many families don't have telephone. The worst is their country are big. Letters will take weeks to delivery.
One of the best way to ensure worker's quality is training and testing. But it will delay the deploy time. Our company believe good workers are worth to wait.
Changing and replacing workers will waste more time.

How much I need to spend for my maid ?
Apart from maid's salary, employer are required to provide sufficient food, suitable accommodation, medical expenses, issurance, government levy and the cost to send worker home even she can't finish her contract (Sorry but this is our government requirement). Our fee included accident insurance and some medical insurance for our newly deployed maid.
